Master Rigger
Description
The ITI Master Rigger Course is designed for participants that have had some exposure (2-10 years) to crane and rigging operations. The course exposes participants to a variety of equipment and applications which include multiple crane lifts, load turning, load drifting with chain hoists, jacking and rolling using mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, incline planes and managing the center-of-gravity in all three axes.

- Sling Angles and Tension
- Load Control
- Center of Gravity
- Rigging Blocks & Winch Systems
- Chain Fall Load Drifting
- Levers, Jacks and Rollers
- Inclined Planes • Spreader Bars
- Multiple Hitch Systems
- Load Turning
- Multiple Crane Lifts
- Signals and Tag Lines
- Off-Level Rigging Points
- Load Distribution
- Load Moving Procedures
Assessment
Each student that completes the full 4-day course will receive 3.2 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), as well as a certificate of completion.
Optional Rigger and Signalperson Qualification Exams are offered on Day 5, following the Master Rigger Course at ITI Training Centers (additional registration fees apply). Written and Practical Exams are administered. Candidates who successfully pass the exams will receive a 5-year ITI Qualification. These qualifications meet the requirements of OSHA.
All ITI Training Center Open Enrollment Students will receive the following student materials:

- Master Rigger Reference Card
- Journeyman Rigger Reference Card
- Rigging Gear Inspection Reference Card
- Length, Run, Height Reference Card
- Horizontal Rigging Reference Card
Prerequisites
The following PPE is required for all hands-on sessions at ITI Training Centers:
- OSHA-approved hard hat*
- Eye protection*
- Long pants with no holes or tears
- Low-heeled work boots or work shoes
- Full-fingered work gloves*
- OSHA-approved safety vest*
*ITI Training Centers will make these PPE items available for all enrolled students. Students are responsible for their own appropriate garments and footwear.
